A demo of a 1965 Gibson ES-125 CD through a 1966 Fender Princeton Reverb. #gibson #gibsones125 #fender #fenderprincetoneverb #princetonreverb
The best vintage Fender Princeton Reverb I've heard (this month).
Переглядів 4 тис.2 роки тому
Ladies and gents, this is how a good 1966 Princeton Reverb sound. The amp is stock but with a slightly fuller mid 60s Jensen C10n (not original) and a 100pF bright cap from the Vibrolux/Super/Pro/Twin circuits to add clarity and sparkle at lower volumes. It think the clean sound improves with the bright cap on. Otherwise all JJ tubes are stock types except 12AU7 as a more moderate reverb driver...
1964 Fender Vibroverb and ES335
Переглядів 1,2 тис.2 роки тому
Playing the blues with my ES335 through a '64 Fender Vibroverb. Finally I got some time to demonstrate some blues chops with my Vibroverb. The amp is loaded with a vintage EVM 15L speaker, and hence it is almost a Stevie Ray Vaughan amp. It is simply too nice for installing a bigger Twin Reverb output tranny and mess up the beautiful, original circuit with the other SRV mods that Stevie's guita...
64 Fender Vibrolux Reverb vs 65 Super Reverb speakers
Переглядів 4,1 тис.3 роки тому
This video demonstrates how different a 1964 Vibrolux Reverb can sound when it is playing through its inbuilt Jensen C10ns speakers or the CTS Ceramic speakers of a 1965 Super Reverb. A speaker jack cable i used to hook the Vibrolux Reverb up with two of the Super Reverb speakers. The video consists of 6 parts. 0:00 part 1. Vibrolux Reverb speakers, clean chords. 0:19 part 2. Super Reverb speak...
Paladins' Dave Gonzales' tone with a Princeton Reverb and ES335
Переглядів 1,1 тис.3 роки тому
Hunting the Dave Gonzales' tone with a Princeton Reverb and a Gibson ES335. What a guitar player Paladins' Dave Gonzales is with his enormous flow and drive while he is singing and playing fill-ins and rythm at the same time. I tried to find his tone with my 66 Princeton Reverb loaded with a vintage Jensen C10n and a stock 2007 Gibson ES335.
fenderguru.com Hendrix blues tone with Fender and Marshall amps
Переглядів 11 тис.4 роки тому
Today we are comparing three different amps for some old Hendrix blues tone. 1) 1965 Fender Super Reverb with 4x10" original CTS ceramic speakers 2) 1967 Marshall JMP50 GZ34 EL34 with '68 2x12" Celestion G12m speakers 3) 1964 Fender Bassman AB165 with original Oxford 12T6 2x12" speakers. First I play all three amps clean with a little wah wah at the end from a RMC wah pedal. Then I play all thr...

The blackface Fender Vibro-Champ is great for bedroom level playing. The amp breaks up nicely at a low volume when pushed hard with an ES-335 tuned to open D. Amp settings: Vol 10 Treble 5,9 Bass 4,7 Amp is a 1965 Vibro-Champ with original speaker.
fenderguru.com speaker shootout - Fender, Marshall, Jensen, Celestion, Eminence
Переглядів 3,6 тис.4 роки тому
This video demonstrates different speakers and cabinets. I have for quite some time pointed out how important the speakers are for tone. What makes a Marshall sound Marshall is basically a distorting amp played through "Marshall" speakers in a closed 2x12" or 4x12" cabinet. The closed cabinet provides a full low end, and the Celestions have strong upper mids and, especially older speakers, tend...
fenderguru.com Fender Vibroverb EVM 15L speaker
Переглядів 10 тис.5 років тому
On request we have made a short video demonstrating the tone of a 1964 Fender Vibroverb with a 60s EVM 15L speaker, also famously known as the speaker Stevie Ray Vaughan used in his Vibroverbs. As you can hear it has razor sharp treble and a firm, punchy low end. It is a very difficult speaker to get a smooth and decent tone out of. It requires some experience with guitar pickups, pedals and EQ...
fenderguru .com Fender Pro Reverb and Twin Reverb shootout
Переглядів 13 тис.5 років тому
Today we will be comparing two big Fender amps, the blackface Pro Reverb and Twin Reverb. Both these amps are vintage amps. The Pro is a 1966 with Jensen C12n speakers and the 1964 Twin Reverb is loaded with Oxford 12T6 speakers. They both have two 12 inch speakers and a big gorgeous tone. The looks of these amps are very similar but in terms of volume and breakup they are two different animals...

fenderguru.com Bandmaster Reverb and a Vibratone
Переглядів 7 тис.8 років тому
Here is some old Jimmie Vaughan tone for y'all. A 1969 silverface Fender Bandmaster Reverb with a 1968 Fender Vibratone (aka "Leslie 16"). One can hear the chorus and tremolo effect of the Vibratone together with the inbuilt 2x8" speakers in the Bandmaster Reverb top. Huh? Speakers in a Bandmaster? Yes, the cabinet of the Bandmaster _Reverb_ top is big enough to fit two 8" speakers. A non-rever...

fenderguru.com's 61 Fender Tremolux for some bluesy Hendrix and SRV tones
What about between these ones and SRV59 to play SRV?
Deluxe hands down
Pro Reverb. And I thought I’d like the Twin more.
could you show how does the speaker look like from the back?
This totally rocks. I wonder of he could do a video of just the Vibroverb amp?
bro this gear, wont you share?? cmon...
This is awesome
can you drop your amp settings please? preciate❤️
I think this was a stock amp (no bright cap, which I later added to this amp) with stock tubes. Volume=3.5, bass = 2,5, treble = 5-6, reverb = 3-4 (possibly more if I used a 12au7 instead of 12at7 reverb driver tube).
@@jensmo75 thank you so much for the quick response 🙏🏻🤴
Fender Princeton Reverb is king of amps. Nice playing.
What was that? I just saw and heard wow wow and wow there are no words describe how amazing that dude is.
Wow!! I’m surprised, but I liked the Oxfords the best here! Thanks for the comparison 👍🏻
YES!!! I have a Weber 12F150 in my DR clone for 20 years now, Ted Weber himself recommended it. The 12A150 is likely even better perhaps? I have 10A150 and 10F150 in old vintage Gibson amps to replace the Jensen speakers they came with. Today I would likely order the Eminence Alessandro SA59 12" instead of the 12A150, or Alessandro SA64 for the C12N version. I prefer clean tones, so for me the AlNiCo speakers work better, but if you're more into overdrive and distortion maybe the ceramic magnet version would work better for you? Many other brands make excellent replacements, but I still like the originals, organ-pull Jensen C12N speakers are hard to beat, but the Alessandro are supposedly as good, and Jupiter makes awesome speakers too, I have a couple of those and want a "midnight" version of their C10N. The best sounding speaker I ever heard were a C10N in my non-reverb Princeton, clean all the way up the dial, only slight overdrive maxed..................!
With that Guitar the Pro-reverb excells.
Thank you for great demo ! It's very helpful. My question is about the brigth knob. Is it on or off? Thanks!
That setup! Wow
Do you think I can get close with a twin reverb with these same speakers?
I love your tone dude! Sounding amazing
Ayeeayyeeooo!
Princeton feels a little more focused to me.
It would be better to find differences to use the same riff and the same speaker cabinet in all.
The perfect song
❤if you like blues then check out! Whiskey blues it’s slow blues and you’ll just MELT!! x
Amazing tones
You sound really good and it reminds me Mike Bloomfield on Super Sessions! Although he recorded with a LP…May I ask what pickups are those on your Baja? Are they twisted tele 8in neck and broadcaster in bridge?
I really, really like the tone of this amp and speakers. Thank you!
Way to slow for me put me to sleep I'm more of Gary Moore, Beth Hart and more
'We'd like to do a little thing by Bob Dylan, there's his grandmother over there.'
Do you know UAD Dream 65 deluxe pedal ? do you like ?
Yes! Love the Jensens
Great work. Thank you!
This or a Celestion 10” gold? Anyone?
Excellent playing and tone. That's the sound I'm looking for 10a150 thanks so much. My Jensen 2 x 10 in the vibrolux are very jangly 60ish.
for leads -> blackface deluxe; for rhythm -> silverface deluxe
Yeah church! Disse gutta er ekte musikalske.
Fantastic sound, I can't believe some-one has exactly the same amp and speakers. You chose well.
Wish there was talking about how they were different (in the room perspective)
Are the amps modded or original? What speakers are in there? Sounds great! Spot on!
Sweet.
You sound great as always; it sounds great because you play great. I'm a PR fan myself. It was my first amp in 1965, and will be my last amp too. BTW: you are doing a great fucking job.
When my girlfriend snapped off the headstock of my Taylor guitar because it swept through my fender blues deluxe speaker I had the blues so bad. Then hurricane Sandy came and completely submersed the amp in salt water. I did so many gigs with that amp. Play the crap out of your gear , tomorrows never guaranteed. True story 😢
I don't really like the sound of 12 inch speakers so the princeton to me wins
The oxford 10j4 sounds best clean the jensen c10n is better overall... and the eminence is just muddy clean and dirty lol
I wish you american fans would shut your mouths until the artist is finished playing the song. Whooping & yelling out Oohs, Ahhs & Yeah is all about you, nothing to do with the artist not to mention fucking embarrassing. The need to divert attention from the artist by yelling out reinforces what egomaniacs you all are. Example @04:19 You should be a fuckingshamed of yourselves.
Tremolo is the first effect vibrato is the second....
awesome stuff....both guitar players have such a beautifull and personal way of going about this slow blues, love em both!!
this is how to forge the hearts of listeners and win loyal fans yeah!
Blackface Deluxe for the win
Josh is one of my all time fav's but he will never have the feel of Kirk while he uses 13's. Drop a string gage or 2... tone should always be second to playability. & yes S.R.V. used 13's,,, but he tuned down half a step so it was like using 11's
Ten minutes of pure joy! 😊
Are those amps modded or original? What speakers?
